Jailhousepete Posted July 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Could somebody advise on QM2 Dubai to Southampton, which is best side of ship to have your stateroom Thank You
cruiseluvva Posted July 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2017 If you want more sun, the port side, if you want more shade then starboard. This applies to much more of your trip, not all.
Jailhousepete Posted July 6, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Thank you Gill, just wondered also once approaching, at, going through Suez does it make any difference Jean
Oahucruiser Posted July 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2017 The port side is much better when going through the Suez Canal. The starboard side is mainly dessert but there are a few monuments that are of interest on that side. One of the best places to view both sides and hear the commentary is the Commodore Club but you have to get there very early. People tend to stay in their seats for most of the day in that wonderful room.
cruiseluvva Posted July 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2017 At the risk of disagreeing with Oahucruiser, we have been through the Suez Canal, in that direction, twice, and I both times we spent the entire day on our aft facing balcony once, the second time on the aft (Grills) deck on QM2. Next year we shall be doing it again on QM2 and once again we will be in the same place.
Jailhousepete Posted July 6, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Thank you both Cruiseluvva and Oahucruiser for your info, just disappointed they have removed Port Said from the itinerary Jean
