jarconthemighty Posted July 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Going on a cruise this fall and look to import some local wines (probably in the realm of cases). Already checked by local state laws and I am ok as well as understand will need to pay duty/excise tax on it. Question is if anyone has had experience doing this and if so are there things to watch out for, etc? ~Jar
navybankerteacher Posted July 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Because you will be relying upon the seller to ship - while complying with all necessary requirements - you want to be very sure about your supplier's honesty and competence. Are you sufficiently confident about your vetting skills? If it were me , I would deal "locally" - going to a known player, like Sherry Lehman in New York and ask them to order the cases for me from suppliers they would know.
