What exactly is this activity on the Escape? I think I may want to try it:cool:

No fee for this....it's one of the two planks to walk out over the edge of the ship...there's a line to pull at the end of the plank that will take a photo.

Ropes Course

Feel your heart drop as you zip over the ocean on one of five Sky Rail zip tracks. Let go of every inhibition as you walk across one of two Planks on Norwegian Escape. Experience 99 exhilarating challenges. Our expanded, three-story Ropes Course gives “action-packed” a whole new meaning.

Actually there is a zip line at the end of the line which takes you back to the beginning of the course. Just remember to bring

your sneakers, they wont let anyone on with flip flops or sandals. I've done this on the NCL Breakaway and I believe the Escape

has the same course.

The Escape course is bigger than the Breakaway/Getaway course.

It depends on how slow the person in front of you is going.:')

There are 2 planks on Escape as part of the 2-level ropes course. One is wobbly, and the other is sturdy. There are also 2 zip lines. How long it takes depends on you and others. My son goes up there and stays forever, wandering all over the place, back and forth, retracing his steps, hanging out, etc.

No, you actually walk off the end and then they fish you out of the water, it's very refreshing! ;p

Awww, yes Captain Jack Sparrow told me that once and I nearly died :D

Just heads up, my husband tried to go straight after the gym and they sent him back to get a dry shirt. I think the reasoning is to keep the straps dry. You also cannot have anything in your pockets including phones, closed toe and heeled shoes and sleeves (no tank tops).

We went through the course 3 times and each time took about 20-30 minutes. The course tends to change depending on what portions are open, sometimes the close the zip line part. I don't think there's any shortcut to the plank.

The best day to do is a port day when other people are off the ship. The last sea day had a very long line, so we waited about 30 minutes in line before even getting up to the course.

I hope some of that info helps! It's tons of fun!

So do you have to do the entire course or is their a shortcut to get to the planks?

Thanks to all for the information!!!

I've been on the Escape ropes course before. There's various paths you can take and each offer varying degrees of difficulty.

If I recall correctly, the planks are near the beginning of the course.

It would be helpful to see the course layout to know where to go. I felt a bit lost on the course, like I missed a few parts.
