mrsgoggins Posted July 11, 2017 #26 Share Posted July 11, 2017 Thanks for this mrsgoggins, helps to keep our expectations low. We have booked an Outside as the cruise is to the Arctic Circle. A balcony might have been a bonus but it will be too cold to sit outside anyway. Sent from my iPad using Forums I am sure that the offers will vary - you may be luckier! I'm also sure that those who did not price up the upgrade possibilities last week may be more inclined to believe that they are being offered a deal
konyagiqueen Posted July 12, 2017 #27 Share Posted July 12, 2017 We got our offer this morning , from a lowest grade balcony( but on C deck with the larger balcony) and it was £319pp to any mini suite, not including club. If we had really wanted a mini suite we would have booked it originally so we did not take it up , especially at that price.

dides Posted July 12, 2017 #29 Share Posted July 12, 2017 Our upgrade offer arrived - from a BD Balcony cabin to a Mini-Suite for 159 GBP per person on the Sapphire Princess next May. We are not interested at that price. Sandra
crows nest club Posted July 13, 2017 #30 Share Posted July 13, 2017 As we hadn't heard anymore from Princess rang my TA today and he was able to get figures for an upgrade for this offer direct from Princess. As we have a Club Class mini suite, our offer would be to any grade suite but for just over £1200 p.p. Obviously the highest grade suites afford the greatest savings. Still think it is a bit steep. The present general offer window comes to a close at midnight on 31 July and overall prices tend to reduce at that time. However we have noticed over the years that Princess very rarely reduce suite prices.
cinnamon Posted July 13, 2017 Author #31 Share Posted July 13, 2017 We got a call from our TA. £299.00 pp to upgrade from an Outside to a balcony. Not a bad deal but still more than we want to pay so we passed. It will be so cold in the Arctic Circle I doubt we'd make enough use of a balcony to justify almost £600 extra. crows nest club Posted July 19, 2017 #32 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Just upgraded under this offer for our May cruise next year on Sapphire. We had a mini suite and got a flat rate offer to upgrade to a Suite. T/A informed us that it was any suite from S6 right up to S1.' So we have got the Grand S1 suite. Would not have considered it if it was only to Vista Suite. As we would never in a million years, been able to afford the Grand Suite, we took the plunge. It's also our Ruby Wedding next year so that's another excuse lol.

That sounds amazing, hope you enjoy :) Princess offered us an upgrade on our June cruise from Mini Suite to full suite but at £1500 pp extra we didn't bother Happy cruising :)
tothemall&beyond Posted July 19, 2017 #34 Share Posted July 19, 2017 We have always either received notice that we were upgraded or we received the upsell offer, we haven't seen the type of email you referenced but we use a TA so she may be getting those on our behalf. We have taken a number of the upsell offers which have been quite good... We have also declined if the deal didn't meet our budget. You won't know if the deal is right for you until you get it. However, if you like the offer respond asap as these offers tend to go quickly. If you use a TA, they'll get the email and it's up to them to let you know about it. If you're not using a TA, the upsell offer always comes in the form of an email to your email of record - and it's generally 2-3 weeks prior to the cruise, but sometimes could be sooner. BTW, actual upgrade (not upsell) notices are also emailed after they've already done the upgrade. If the upgrade is to a cabin you don't want, and you're using a TA who doesn't communicate the offer as soon as it's received, you may not be able to get your old cabin back. There's only a 48 hour window to do that. Sometimes they'll even enforce a 24 hour window - and they almost always seem to come to us on Friday nights. No kidding.
