ocdtraveler Posted July 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2017 Does anyone know if the solarium pool on RCCL's Visiion of the Seas is heated? I'm taking a Baltic cruise in August and the weather at that time of year is only supposed to be in the low 60's. Too chilly for a non-heated pool. BigMikefromTexas Posted July 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2017 The solariums on the Vision and other Vision Class ships are enclosed and weather controlled, typically Air Conditioned. The Retractable Roof Enclosure allows them to be opened, but they rarely do so. Still the sun creates a natural warming affect through the two story solarium canopy. I am not sure if they heat the water, i.e. no documentation stating it is, but I have been on several of this class of ships and the water in the Solarium is never too cold, so being an environmentally closed structure I would say yes, the water is heated otherwise it would be 74 degrees the same as the air. Despite some literature to the contrary on this class the Solarium is located aft of the Central Elevators on deck 9.
Saab4444 Posted July 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2017 The weather in the Baltic in August is not in the low 60s. 70s or even 80s are the possible. In the enclosed solarium it is even warmer and humid. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Kmangel Posted July 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2017 Outside on the pool deck was always very cool when cruising on our Baltic cruise in July, so the Solarium was very popular for both swimmers and lounging around. The hot tubs were great.
