LewesBeach Posted July 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Someone posted on our upcoming roll call that the AIBP pre-purchase price is 57.45/day vs 59.80/day on board. Can anyone confirm this? Thx!
timtrek Posted July 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Unless they recently changed the on board price, my pre-purchase of the AIBP for a cruise in April on the Ruby was the same as the on board price my wife paid - $57.45/day. No difference. Perhaps someone was charged a port sales tax when they purchased it on board. Normally I have never had a sales tax added to a purchase of the AIBP even when at the embarkation port as the charge is not run onto your account till later in the evening when out of the port. Maybe there was a change in that "policy".

hawkeyetlse Posted July 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2017 About January/February of this year, people started reporting differential pricing for the AIBP. AIBP costs more to purchase on board? Maybe some ships were slower to implement this than others, but the current on-board price is $52/day, plus 15% tip, so $59.80 per day, as the OP's research indicated.
