I have sailed the escape 2X and like it. I am going to be on again in December. If you go to the 5 O'clock Somewhere Bar outside, say hi to Clarence (aka "the Chocolate Cowboy") if he is there and ask him if he will be on board in December. Also If you like to sit outside and drink wine, the cellars has an outdoor wine bar. Jocelyn is usually out there ans is wonderful as well. I personally love the Waterfront (outdoor deck 8). Great place for outdoor quiet during the day. I guess these are as much my hints as questions... (I left off going to Food Republic since you seem to be limiting your specialty restaurants, though it is only on Escape)

I haven't decided on Food Republic yet.....might go depending on what is going on, crowds etc.... Same with Pincho Tapas Bar. I know for sure that we will go to Margaritaville for drinks only. Not a big fan of their food at the other Margaritavilles so I sure the one on the ship will be the same.

Only 3 more work days before the big Escape (in more ways than one). We are flying into Miami early Saturday morning. Going to catch a taxi or Uber to the pier. Considered using the transfer service offered by NCL but don't think I want to wait around for other passengers. Plus our return flight is right on the cut off time. So I will be able to give some insight into that process too if anyone is interested.

Thank you for offering this before your cruise. The Escape is a wonderful ship and you will enjoy it. We were on last October and are going again in September.

1. Could you please post the dailies?

2. Are you considering doing the Escape Room? Curious about that.

3. Would love to hear your experience on the ropes course. I am 55 and a little overweight. I wanted to do it on the Escape but chickened out even without taking a closer look. I want to do it but not sure how physically hard it will be.

Thanks again and have a wonderful cruise!!!

Yes, I will post the dailies every night, before they get marked up, folded etc....

Not sure about the Escape Room.

I am also 55, not overweight but I have a very bad back and a bad knee. Had knee surgery about 6 years ago, landed hard skydiving and tore the ligaments. It still acts up sometimes especially with stairs. But I am going to try the ropes - you betcha!

We also have a rule about elevators once we are on the ship. We only use them in dire emergencies. Has worked out on past ships, just zip down the stairs and limp back up...but we are on deck 15 so I already warned my husband that I might break the "no elevators" rule. Especially going back up to the cabin after being in the casino at night.

But we shall see..it is getting so close, yeah! As excited as we are to be going, you would think we haven't been on a cruise in a while. Not so! We did the Panama Canal cruise this past December and a short 5 day cruise just in June. Won't mention that cruise line, but needless to say the cruise was not "Paradise". Awful, awful cruise....so we are excited to get the bad taste out of our mouths.;p

Have a great cruise! I'll be on the Escape next July for my wedding and my planner just told me my most likely venue locations are Moderna, Manhattan and Taste. Would you mind taking pictures of all three of those restaurants while they are empty so I can get an idea of the spaces please? Thanks!

First, congratulations and have fun planning the wedding. I will see what I can do about getting your photos. I am an early riser so hopefully I can get into the places and get you some photos.

Since you will be a CAS guest, could you find out who the Executive Casino Host is on board now? This might be listed on your 'welcome from CAS' letter that should be in your statement on the first day.

Just in case you are not aware, did you know that the 'free drinks' while playing in the casino card will get you bottled water and energy drinks? (These aren't part of the UBP.) You can take your players card to the Skyline Bar (next to casino) to get these or order from a server in the casino. They will have to swipe your cabin card but these won't be charged to your account.

Have a great time! Escape is a great ship:cool:

Hi, have an awesome cruise!!

My Sister and I will be on the September 30 sailing. We haven't purchased any of the photos while on board our previous cruises (we never like them) but this cruise we are hoping that some turn out well enough that we want to get them. Any chance you can find out the cost per photo for us? My Sister is considering getting the package before we go it it will save us money in the long run. Would really appreciate it if you have the time.

Again, enjoy your cruise. Can't wait for ours!!!

Angela

I have 2 requests:

1. Just seconding the request for current MDR dinner menus from as many nights as possible.

2. Can you or your spouse sign up for the District leaderboard contest and report back? Some have said that the bartenders provide paper copies of the beer list so you can keep track of how you are doing, but apparently those weren't available last week. Also, there is a new person running the contest and they didn't get any numbers up on the leaderboard until Friday last week. I'd like to know if this runs more smoothly next week.

Thanks!

Also, I was at Harvest Caye in January on the Getaway and I wasn't impressed at all. The pool looks nice and there is a fun-looking splash park for the kids, but it is so hot, with minimal shade. The beach is ok, but the sand is rocky and the water is cloudy.

Still, I'm glad we got off the ship because now we've done it and never have to go back. ;) If you do want to get off, remember to pack a Yeti or another big to-go cup. The bartenders will fill it for you before you leave the ship and that will give you enough fuel to walk through the butterfly garden, see the animals, and stick your feet in the water at the lagoon, which is nicer than the ocean beach.

I will check on the Casino Host for you. Thanks for the reminder about the bottle water. I always tip my server in the casino, even though the drinks are already free or on my UBP, so they bring me whatever I need. I know the tips are included in the UBP package, but I look at it like I am in a land casino. So I give them a dollar chip for every drink. I have also found that this brings the servers around faster. On my last NCL cruise I had the servers coming by so fast that I couldn't keep up. One server would bring me a refill when my glass was half empty....gotta love that!

Definitely will get as many MDR menus as possible.

I don't think we will sign up for the beer contest. Since we won't take it seriously, I don't want to take a spot away from someone else. But, I will check on it frequently and see if they are posting the standings on a regular basis and ask the bartender for a list. If I can't keep the list, maybe I can at least take a photo of it.

We are still mulling over getting off the ship in Harvest Caye. Since we haven't been to this port, have been to Belize and loved it, we might get off even if for only an hour or so. Will play it by ear and see how they day goes.

I will check on the photo prices for you. We don't even look at any photos of us taken by the ship photographers anymore. I prefer to take photos myself especially in the ports. I find the posed photos taken by the ship photographers of us are too posed but some people love them!

Well, one more day! Have some little things at work to take care of this morning and then time to pack. We have an early flight tomorrow morning leaving Atlanta at 8am and getting into Miami around 10am.

I am going through all of the posts to this thread this evening and compiling my to-do list for the requests. I will start a new thread Saturday on board the ship titled "Escape Questions Answered live on board" so that they will be easier to find - you won't have to go through these posts to find your answers.

Keep sending in your requests or questions and I will add them to the list! Happy cruising!

Thank you!

That makes sense about not signing up for the contest. Really, I just want to know if they will actually be updating it as they have in the past. I hope last week was just an anomaly.

I loved Belize City when we went there in 2016. But Harvest Caye is nothing like it. I do think it is worth getting off the ship and walking around for an hour, as long as you don't expect anything like an authentic encounter with Belizean life.

Definitely will get as many MDR menus as possible.
