Looking at Holland America's itinerary for Alaska and note it shows Haines as a port with Skagway in parentheses. Does anyone know where the ship docks - Haines or Skagway? Thanks.

We are booked on a Noordam cruise next year, and it docks in Haines. Anyone who wants to go to Skagway on an excursion or otherwise can use the fast ferry that travels between Haines and Skagway.

 

We are thrilled to see Haines, which will be a new port for us. We've been to Skagway four times.

Yes, rather than taking all the time to ferry, I've flown one way, plus you get a wonderful scenic flight.

 

But, Haines has a lot to offer as well, I especially like driving the Haines Highway using Murray's Guide. ;)

I've been to Skagway many times, Haines is a nice option with only a few cruise ships visiting. While there check out taking a flightseeing trip with Mountain Flying Service over Glacier Bay. Fantastic trip

We are on Volendam soon and I haven't noticed Haines I don't think on things? Do all ships dock there?

Yes there is a cruise ship dock in Haines.
