blueboro Posted August 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Anyone have any idea which nights would be the gala nights on the Westerdam for the 8/15 ten-night sailing from Rome to Venice?
RuthC Posted August 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2017 If you would care to post out the itinerary (days and port times), we can take an educated guess. Or better.
jtl513 Posted August 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2017 This is a tough one to call: Cruise Schedule: Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy (15 Aug d1800);Messina, Sicily (16 Aug 1300-2200); La Valletta, Malta (17 Aug 0800(+1)0600); Mgarr, Gozo (18 Aug 0800-1700); Corfu, Greece(20 Aug 0800-1600); Dubrovnik, Croatia (21 Aug 1000-2300);Kotor, Montenegro (22 Aug 0800-1800); Split, Croatia (23 Aug 0800-1700); Venice, Italy (24 Aug a0800(+1)disembark) My guesses would be the overnight at Malta on the 17th and the sea day the 19th, but those are only 2 days apart. Maybe Corfu on the 20th? Or Split on the 23rd?
blueboro Posted August 1, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Thanks. It seems they have a different itinerary every 10 days so hard to find someone that had the exact itinerary.
draftxhorselover Posted August 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Hey Ruth Are Gala nights generally always on the "AT SEA" nights?
catl331 Posted August 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Are Gala nights generally always on the "AT SEA" nights? At Sea days, or port days with early departure (1500-1600) but the cruise in question has only one sea day and only Corfu for a 1600 departure two days after the sea day. RuthC Posted August 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Hey Ruth Are Gala nights generally always on the "AT SEA" nights? In general, yes. There are also times that the ship leaves port early in the afternoon, and those can be a Gala night, too. Are you sure there are three Gala nights on this cruise, and not two? A while back HAL reduced the number of Gala nights from a standard 2 every 14 days to more of a sliding scale. Seven-day cruises still have 2 Gala nights, but I don't remember how many days a cruise has to have for there to be an increase to 3.
CHOPPERTESTER Posted August 4, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2017 We're on the 12 night that adds Korcula and Koper and our cruise docs show only two gala nights. Ditto for our previous leg 12 night BCE to Rome. Only two gala nights. My guess would be the sea day between Gozo & Corfu and then the second to last night. jmkennett Posted August 7, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Just off a 12 night on the Westerdam. The Gala nights were the two sea days, which were days six and nine.
