We did the Kaokao a few years ago. You start off by watching a video all about the history of chocolate in a small room. It was very interesting. Then you watch the chocolate being made - small operation and then finally some samples and the options to purchase their product. We were on the island for 3 weeks and had a rental car (no taxi fee) so didn't mind spending the time on this tour. If you are only on the island for the day in my opinion I would find something better to do.
