MIAMI, August 3, 2017 – Crystal River Cruises, the World’s Most Luxurious River Cruise Line, today welcomed Crystal Bach to its award-winning fleet. The luxury river ship, the first of four “Rhine Class” ships set to sail the rivers of Europe, was delivered to Crystal by MV WERFTEN during the official handover ceremony in Wismar, Germany. In attendance to witness the occasion were Crystal’s CEO and president, Edie Rodriguez and several local dignitaries.

“It is a thrill to welcome Crystal Bach to the family, as she one of the most anticipated vessels to embark on Europe’s rivers in years,” says Rodriguez. “Her design, abundant space and standard of amenities and luxury are groundbreaking in and of themselves, then, combined with the acclaimed Crystal brand of service and attention to detail, create an unprecedented experience in the river cruising industry.”

Crystal Bach joins an internationally celebrated lineup of luxury travel experiences, as Crystal River Cruises was voted “Best River Cruise Line” by the readers of Travel + Leisure in the magazine’s 2017 World’s Best Awards. Sailing itineraries between Amsterdam and Frankfurt, and Amsterdam and Basel, Crystal Bach will travel along the Rhine and Moselle rivers.

Crystal’s “Rhine Class” river ships are the river cruising industry’s first and only all-balcony, all-suite vessels in Europe, with every category of accommodation perched above the waterline. All four river ships will offer Crystal’s acclaimed butler service in every room category, king-sized beds, Panoramic Balcony-Windows™, walk-in closets and dual vanity in the bathrooms in most categories, ETRO robes and slippers, wall-mounted flat-screen HD TVs, and Nespresso machines. Additional enticing features include Crystal’s farm-to-table, Michelin-inspired cuisine in multiple, open-seating eateries: the elegant Waterside Restaurant, namesake Bistro cafés and the exclusive Vintage Room; and the Palm Court.

By sea, river, land and air, Crystal has redefined the way the world views luxury travel. Celebrating 27 years of excellence, Crystal Cruises is the World’s Most Awarded Luxury Cruise Line, having earned “World’s Best Cruise Ship” in Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader Choice Awards for 23 years; been voted “World’s Best Large Ship Cruise Line” by Travel + Leisure readers for 20 years; and the “Best Luxury Cruise Line” by travel professional organization Virtuoso for three consecutive years (2014, 2015 & 2016).  The readers of Travel + Leisure also voted Crystal River Cruises the “World’s Best River Cruise Line” and Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises the “World’s Best Small-Ship Cruise Line” in 2017. The newest and upcoming extensions of the celebrated Crystal brand include Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises, Crystal Luxury Air, Crystal River Cruises – The World’s Most Luxurious River Cruise Line – Crystal AirCruises and Crystal Exclusive Class with Crystal Residences. Crystal is proud to be a platinum partner of the professionals of ASTA.

We will be on the second voyage! Does anyone know if Mark will remain as Entertainment Host or whether he is just doing the inaugural? Very excited to step aboard Bach and to experience the rivers of Europe. We were just notified of festivals along the river in Frankfurt preventing embarkation at the scheduled river dock on August 27th. Therefore, a slight change of plan and the voyage will begin a short drive away in Mainz. Not a big deal at all but thought I would share the info for those who are always interested in the start and end points of Crystal voyages. Crystal is providing complimentary transfers to Mainz. I will definitely write up a review and report at the completion of our Mainz to Amsterdam sailing.

I'd think Mark might be on for a few cruises. He was on the Mozart this past spring for the short cruises with the travel agents before the season started and then several cruises after that. I think there is a limit to the amount of time he can be on any of the river cruises as the staff must have EU passports and those who don't are limited to the time they can work there.
