sleepless Posted August 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2017 If a stateroom is booked, and the price drops, does NCL honor the lower price?
Rare sid_9169 Posted August 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2017 If it's prior to your final payment date, you can cancel and re book... If your beyond that, you're SOL...
Bobrunner Posted August 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2017 You shouldn't have to cancel just ask if there is a price change. They will make the change if there is. I just had mine corrected for a Dec cruise.
SoCA6ft5 Posted August 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2017 You shouldn't have to cancel just ask if there is a price change. They will make the change if there is. I just had mine corrected for a Dec cruise. The important thing is to ask - NCL if you booked with them; your TA if not. If you're beyond your final payment date, you may be able to upgrade to a similar or higher priced cabin if it's price has dropped too (we got a Haven Spa Suite a few years back that way). Some have also had success negotiating a partial (25%?) cabin credit for the difference, but again, you have to ask (the worst that could happen is they say, "no."). Do be aware: generally if you make any changes the promotions & terms you booked under may not port over to your revised booking and your booking will now fall under current promos and rules. E.G. if you booked with pre-paid gratuities and they are no longer offered, you may no longer have that option (it's like cancelling and re-booking without loosing your assigned cabin). phissy Posted August 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2017 We are past final payment for our cruise to Alaska. Price for our cabin category has dropped since. ($300). Had our big box travel person call NCL today to see if they would offer an additional OBC. They offered $75.00, we accepted. :D Every little bit helps. As Mama always said, 'It never hurts to ask". SoCA6ft5 Posted August 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/best-price-guarantee Unfortunately the above quoted NCL Guarantee is only good within 48 hours of booking. zqvol Posted August 7, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2017 If a stateroom is booked, and the price drops, does NCL honor the lower price? If it is prior to final payment they will. You do not have to cancel and rebook, you just call and they adjust the price. Your booking number and all other details remain the same. They do this because it is much easier on them than generating new bookings. I can not understand why some people thing that it is a cancel and rebook thing, but that erroneous information is passed around all of the time. sleepless Posted August 7, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Thank you all for your replies. DH and I are looking into booking our first cruise on a Norweigen ship during the summer of 2019. We have sailed Royal Caribbean several times in the past.
