Overhead Fred Posted August 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2017 We are on the Koningsdam 24 day TA/Mediterranean leaving 3/28/18. Does anyone have experience with HAL's post-cruise packages in Rome at the Savoy? I am sure I could do better price-wise on my own, but going through HAL might (??) be less painful. The HAL airfares (Rome to Minneapolis/St. Paul) seem much better than I am currently seeing on various web sites. Since I will likely book flights through our PCC, the convenience also doing the hotel/transfers, etc. with them is attractive. I have posted a related query on our roll call, but I wanted to access the wider expertise of the CC community as well. Thanks!
SeaCruiser_1 Posted August 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2017 I am a fan of booking air and hotel through HAL in Europe for various reasons. Rome is quite a distance from the port. The convenience of transfers from port to city and also to the airport was great! Holland Americas hotels did not disappoint. They also have an assistant at a desk for HAL guests. Another thing to keep in mind is travel insurance. The package covers you through everything. That's just my opinion!
Rare kazu Posted August 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2017 I have no problem booking a HAL flight if it works and their pricing if you don't have FF miles is quite good on Transatlantic flights IMO or, at least ini my experience. Hotels - I do on my own. We stayed at a fabulous place in your port that I would highly recommend. Not cheap, but cheaper than HAL and a lot more value for your money and euros ;)
