Just booked my first Princess Cruise

[Queen of Adventure]

We're sailing on the Dec 11th Caribbean Princess Eastern Caribbean itinerary I'm VERY excited to try this ships many COOL features like the current pool, Movies Under the Stars, and Spa.

 

We are signed up for Personal Dining... Does anyone have tips on how to best use this feature?

 

Also, we are booked into a PS suite (Lido106). Anything above that is waitlisted... Are the PH or OS worth waitlisting for, or are just groovy with PS?

 

If anyone has a list of the suite perks handy, it would be wonderful to see them.

When we were on the Golden Princess last summer in the Med, we had PC dining and enjoyed it. We found that on that cruise at least if you went to eat between 7:15 and 7:45 PM there was almost never a line and never a long one. The longest we ever waited was about 5 minutes. We elected to switch between the two dining rooms because we just enjoyed the freedom. We did finally sort of settle down when we found a waiter and his assistant who did a really good job and started asking to be seated in their section when ever possible. We got tables for two on the nights we just didn't want to go through the introduction tango and sat at tables for 6 or 8 on other nights when we felt more sociable.

 

The only downside to PC dining was the lose of the companionship that developes when you sit with the same group of people for dinner each night. You can also do that arrangement if you have other people you want to eat with each night. You can have the Maitre'd reserve a table for you and your group and reserve it each night of the cruise at a certain time which really duplicates regular fixed dining but at a time you want instead of the ones assigned by the cruise ship line.

 

As I mentioned if you find a waiter you like you can also ask to be seated each night in his section. All in all we enjoyed PC dining and requested it on our upcoming Island Princess cruise in October.
