hey all - couple questions regarding casinos on Royal, specifically on HOS.

1. Casino credit. Obviously cash is accepted for chips. But what if you don't want to carry your bankroll onboard. What are the other options for obtaining casino credit?

2. Poker tables? Talking live action here....not Pai Gow or similar. Does it exist? Yes....I know there are card player cruises out there...

3. Comps. Anything worth chasing? No...don't need the chasing comps lecture ;)

Thanks in advance!

You could buy yourself some OBC before the cruise, then charge your card for your casino play. If I'm not mistaken there is a charge for this, maybe 5%? and maybe waived if you have a cash account? or are a high roller?

I'm almost positive that the poker (NLH) is like a video poker thing. You sit at the table with other humans but there is no dealer.

Here's a link to obtaining Casino credit for an upcoming RCI sailing:

https://www.nccreports.com/application/?royalcaribbean

Regarding comps, you'll earn $$ off certificates for every 400 points earned during your slot and table play...free cruise (inside cabin) certificate at 2400 points, free cruise (outside cabin) at 3600 points, and a free balcony cruise certificate at 4800 points. Strongly suggest you talk to the casino host the evening you board to introduce yourself and get details directly from them so you'll know what the expectations are. Usually You'll be granted free drinks after accumulating around 1000 points during your sailing. I'd also recommend you also contact ClubRoyale@rccl.com ahead of your cruise with any questions if you're a serious gambler. Good luck!!

Most of the ships that I have been on have Texas Hold em...live with an actual dealer...they also have tournaments.....with live Texas Holdem with a dealer.

Harmony does not have live dealer poker, except for tournaments. All cash games on harmony are via computer dealers.

In regards to comps, best bet is to meet the casino host on day #1 and ask them what kind of play they are looking for to get comps you desire.

I don't have first hand experience so discount everything I say. RCCL casino is pretty old school as far what and when to award something. There is some tracking but the Casino host seem to have a lot of discretion on what to comp and dismiss. There for having a personal relationship and reminding them that you are in the casino on a regular basis will go a long way for the comps.

Also, They will wave the 5% fee if you get up to the free drinks stage.

Hate to tell you this but comps are comps on RCL ships, period. The casino host could care less about a "personal relationship". They have zero discretion on what to comp and not comp.

Thanks for the info all. I do spend a ton of time gambling, so obviously have a good handle on the way things should work....but when you're a captive audience on a ship, that is not always the case. Lol.

When you say "free drinks", is that going to in the casino only, or anywhere on ship? Would make my decision to buy the drink package easier...

Thanks again guys!

Other than free drinks (in the casino only), the only comps I've received are a couple bottles of wine delivered to my cabin, but since I have the drink package, I didn't end up having them. (Plus, they were red wines and I prefer white.)

Club Royale is really a shadow of its former self from two and a half years ago.
