joanna0627 Posted September 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Hi, thinking of taking a cruise out of Boston next spring. I will be travelling with my daughter. My concern is parking. Is there a place to park and an easy walk with luggage? We are used to NYC Terminal and drop off, and I cant walk and do luggage very well so I was hoping for the easiest route. Thanks:)

KatieMcG Posted September 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2017 (edited) I haven't cruised out of Boston but do live and work in the area. There is parking a close walk to the pier, but like all parking in Boston, it comes at a premium price. http://www.massport.com/cruiseport/to-from-cruiseport/parking-directions/ Hi, thinking of taking a cruise out of Boston next spring. Hearthosesteeldrumsplayin Posted September 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2017 When I was looking at hotels in the area (we cruise in May with my daughter and her friends), I noted that some have park/cruise packages. You might check the difference in price for parking if you drive straight in, versus staying the night before to get that package. Worth looking into, I would think. Thanks:) There is a parking garage about a block away, and surface parking right at the bow of the Dawn. Depending on your arrival time, you will be directed to one, or the other. Signage for parking is horrible. We arrived at 10:15 am (8/25) and were directed to the surface lot (by the garage attendant). We parked less than 200yds from the terminal. There's a dedicated, smooth walkway to the terminal.. $20/day for garage & surface lot. For garage parking, it's best to drop off luggage, then park. The walk isn't bad, but you cross 2 busy streets, and there's cobble-stone walkways that can be tough on luggage.
ldpkp Posted September 4, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Consider parking in Braintree at Logan express. I believe it's 7 dollars a day. The bus I believe stops close to pier or take an uber.
Rare 1025cruise Posted September 4, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2017 The bus from Braintree goes to the airport, no where else. Parking at the port is easy, just drop everything off and then go park.
bussub Posted September 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 6, 2017 First time visiting Boston, so we are not familiar with the area around the cruise port. Are there any good/Interesting areas close by to go for a walk either pre or post cruise? Thanks so much

You can either drop off your luggage and then park or park and walk across the street to the terminal. http://www.boston-discovery-guide.com/black-falcon-cruise-terminal.html - Things to do in the area of the port.
