Greetings all,

Going on our first cruise, chose the Haven Aft-facing suite on the Getaway. I have some questions for any who have cruised in the Haven before:

1) It's not a spa suite, do we get to use the spa?

2) All gratuities seem to be prepaid with my fare, do I tip anyone at all?

3) Do we drink free in the Haven lounge? If not alcohol, anything at all?

Really appreciate any feedback and/or priceless tips that would help us maximize our experience!

If you do not have a Spa Suite than the Spa is not included.

You should tip the Butler and Concierge separately. I always give my room steward an extra tip even though they are included in the tip that you are charged automatically.

Drinks in the Haven lounge are not free unless you have the UBP.

You will really enjoy the Haven - it is a great experience.

You would need to purchase a spa pass.

The Butler and the Concierge

3) Do we drink free in the Haven lounge? If not alcohol, anything at all?

There are snacks in the Haven and lemon water is usually supplied.

Really appreciate any feedback and/or priceless tips that would help us maximize our experience!

I have Never sailed on the GA, but I have sailed in aft suites on both the Escape and the BA. I absolutely love the two bathrooms with showers and the enormous balconies. Enjoy your trip!

CANCEL and get a balcony immediately, you will regret this decision for the rest of your cruising career. The haven is worse then crack. Once you do it it is virtually impossible to sail in any other category and you are ruined for life. Seriously though enjoy, you will love it

True though. I am on the Dawn in two days and I already miss the Haven restaurant. ;p

Different crack for different folks. Years ago, if you "donated" enough in the casino, they would give you VIP status which included breakfast and lunch at Cagneys/Moderno (not the new bigger ships). We totally loved that. But - they dropped it. We actually went to other cruiselines for a bit because of that.

Last trip we booked a suite and got that. And again this time.

We are in Suite, is the still Cagney's Breakfast and lunch? I have not sailed in two years. Lots of changes...a bit hard to keep up with.

Yes. On some ships I think it was moved to Moderno's but still the breakfast/lunch in Cagneys/Modernos for Suites.

Everyone touched on the other ones pretty well, so i'll just comment a bit on 2.

The tradeoff between your room and a spa suite is primarily that you will have much more space, but miss out on the thermal suite for free (and the in-room Jacuzzi). Personally, I wanted the spa on my upcoming cruise so I went with the spa suite for the first time. I found that the space was "nice," but unneeded. Only you can decide what is more important to you!

Another thing to note is that you can buy the thermal suite passes for about $200/pp for a week cruise if you want the best of both worlds!

Enjoy -- it will be hard to ever go back to non-suites once you do it.

No. You will need to buy a spa pass. There is a sauna in the Havens courtyard which is a long hike from your room.

2) All gratuities seem to be prepaid with my fare, do I tip anyone at all?

Your butler and concierge is not covered by your pre paid grats. Suggested: Tip your butler $10-$15 per person in room per days on cruise. Tip your concierge $5-$10 pp per day. Since you have a large room, consider giving your steward an additional $5-$10 pp per day.

3) Do we drink free in the Haven lounge? If not alcohol, anything at all?

If you are in an owners suite or Felix owners suite you get three bottles of booze. Other Havens rooms do not get any alcohol or any beverages.

!

Worse than crack. Enjoy!
