OldBoot Posted September 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2017 We were originally scheduled to disembark at Valparaiso, now it's been changed to Santiago. With late flights home we have several hours to fill before we need to be at the airport. So far the cruise line has not posted any day tours that end at the airport. Any suggestions for things to do for the day with bags in tow? Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
OldBoot Posted September 21, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted September 21, 2017 I posted too soon. The cruise line now has a few options posted for day tours with transfers to the airport included.
valparaiso Posted September 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2017 Hello Oldboot,,,,in general the cruises lines offer full day tour with big groups of persons and the tours are not cheap. If you like to go in a tour by yourself , you have different options 1) visit Valparaiso that is declared world heritage, 2) Winery tours in Casablanca Valley for premium wines tasting 3) Santiago city tour, the downtown with historic building, the neighborhood Lastarria and Bellavista,,,,The Santa Lucia Hill and San Cristobal Hill, Los Dominicos Art Village, The Sky Costanera Tower, etc 4) Going to Los Andes Mountains and see the El Yeso Reservoir,,,,,if you need private transport you could contact privatedriversantiago@hotmail.com....have a nice cruise,,,best regards

Rare TiogaCruiser Posted September 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2017 I've been considering booking a cruise that now ends in SA. Is Valpo on the way to SCL, or is there a more direct route from SA to SCL that most operators will use?

Is Valpo on the way to SCL, or is there a more direct route from SA to SCL that most operators will use? No, Valpo is the opposite direction from San Antonio to SCL. Look at a map of Chile. There is a straight shot highway from SA to SCL that taxis will use. There is nothing to see on the way.

Susie,,,,near the San Antonio port is Rocas de Santo Domingo beach.....on the way,,,,,Matetic Winery,,,,,,also the handmade craft artesian town " Pomaire ",,,,,the Undurraga Winery at Talagante Town,,,,,,,i am agree that Valparaiso is an old city and have more touristic infrastructure,,,,,San Antonio is an industrial city,,,,,but touristic operators are organizing new touristic places in the route from San Antonio to Santiago city,,,regards
