RCL vs NCL During the Winter - NYC

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We might book either the Breakaway (or Anthem again) this week. Would appreciate anyone's opinion on both ships for the holiday season (or preferences in general for a winter sailing). I've read about hesitation regarding the Breakaway for a 7 night sailing during the winter. Last year we did a 10 night on Anthem and loved it. We are concerned about things to do indoors for at least half of the cruise being cold weather.

In particular:

-Daytime comparison (lack of indoor space on the Breakaway)?

-Nighttime entertainment comparison?

-Is there a guest entertainer on the winter 7 night cruises?

-Guest comparison during holiday season? Had a lot of tri-state area on Anthem, how about Breakaway?

-Grown low to mid-20's children - any preference? People around their age on both for the holiday sailings?

-Included food option comparison?

-If per day pricing was equal, what would you choose? We are hesitant to break from our favorite ship/cruise line with Royal but are open minded.

-What are the chances we can dock at the private island during the winter / holiday sailing?

Thanks!
