Escape vs Breakaway

Which ship is better? I'm surprised Escape is newer (and will sail from New York) yet doesn't have Bliss / a nightclub. Does Escape also not have Fat Cats? Is there a different bar with a blues band instead?

Escape is an updated version of the Breakaway and Getaway. Very similar, yet vastly better. The Escape has District Brew House, a beer bar, which has trivia nights, and the Skyview bar in the casino instead of Bliss lounge. Much better design and fun spot to hang out late night.

Thanks! Is there a band/lounge that replaced fat cats blues bar (which on the Epic is the cavern club)? Do we still have the same amount of live music? Is there a dedicated lounge for this like on the other ships?

They are very similar but I have a slight preference for Escape. Many small subtle improvements making her more visually pleasing.

Does Escape have the blues bar / cavern club? Or is there another dedicated bar to live music like on the Epic and Breakaway besides the Atrium?

I have not been on Escape but from reviews that I have read it does sound like they have live music in the District Brew House. I dont know if it is a band or just one guy but the reviews say that it is great.

Been on both ships, both are very similar with some things swapped out as mentioned in the posts above. It also doesn't have the Ice Bar. For live music you really only have the musical act that they have booked playing in the Atrium Bar, which is also good, although I preferred the "Fire and Ice" musical duo from Breakaway much better but these acts are also changing every 6 months.

It's the 5'Oclock Somewhere club located in the same place as Fat Cats. It's also used for karaoke.

Is there no live music nightly bar like fat cats? Does the Escape have 1 less band (no Beatles band, no blues band)?

Escape has larger (deeper) balconies than Breakaway and Getaway.

Sailed on the Getaway and the Escape, and we loved both, with a slight edge on the Escape.

 

As intended, they made slight improvements on the ships with the Escape, and in my opinion it worked!
