jhanham Posted October 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2017 My younger girls are not great swimmers (nor am I if we are being honest) but really want to try snorkeling. Do either place have life jackets that can be used?

EatonDoolittle Posted October 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Maya Chan has them listed under amenities for both kids and adults. http://costamayabeachresort.com/whats-included/ Yes, they have all sorts of stuff to borrow, but a word of caution to OP - the water there is not suitable for good snorkeling - it is murky and weedy, and there will be little to see. They do have better days and they have bad beach days but they will always warn you. Better visibility is further out from the beach and closer to the pier. You can also kayak or SUP out to the reef. dpws Posted December 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2017 Went to blue kay this year with my 11yr are old who's not a great swimmer but had a great time snorkeling in the water straight off the beach, was only 2 or 3 foot deep for a fair distance with a few rocks around and plenty to see under the water, it did his confidence really good and stayed in the water all day, when I needed a break in could watch him from a front row bed, we did have our own jackets but only used them when we all swam out further and deeper together, don't know if blue kay has them to rent but my youngsters snorkelling skills and confidence really came on at this beach
Vacationdreamer<>< Posted December 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2017 FYI I bought an inflatable PFT for my DD before our cruise. It worked wonderfully. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
