Availability of taxis at the Turtle Farm

So thinking of taking a taxi from the pier up to the turtle farm so that we can spend a couple of hours or so mooching around. Does anyone know if there are taxi's hanging around outside the farm throughout the day? We wont have a cell phone plan (coming from Canada and prices are nuts) so if we had to call one it would be either a payphone or see if the farm would call.

I sent an email to the farm a week ago but havent heard anything back

You might find a taxi just hanging out at the Turtle Farm, more so in the afternoon when taxis are looking for fares back to the port.

 

But if you do not see a taxi the Turtle Farm is right on the bus route. You can flag down any passing bus which will take you back to the bus depot, about two blocks from the tender piers. Bus fare is CI$2 (US$2.50) per person for that trip.

There aren't usually taxis waiting at the turtle centre, but the friendly staff at the ticket counter, or a tour guide, at Cayman Turtle Centre will call a taxi for you.

curious if you went already and what your experiance was. was it easy getting a taxi back?

Hi there, we don't go to the Caymans until late December but we decided to skip going to the Turtle farm. We are doing another excursion instead.

Just hop on the bus! So easy and much cheaper!

I agree with the bus option.
