Can you use OBC to purchase Cruise Next certificates?

Recommended Posts

Say I had $100 in OBC, and wanted to buy a $250 cruise next deposit while onboard.

Assuming I hadn't used up the OBC on anything else, would it reduce the actual charge for the deposit to $150?

Yes, and then they'll also deduct the $100 OBC for booking, so you'll pay $50 if you have no other charges and have prepaid your gratuity. Better yet, buy two, and they'll deduct an extra $250.

You can also cash out OBC via the casino at only a 3% loss.

It's easy.

Load exact amount of OBC you wish to cash into a slot machine (ask for help from casino staff if you don't know how to do this).

Do not play or spin. Hit the cashout button.

Bring to cashier. You will get cash for that amount.

Your stateroom will be charged that amount (canceled out by OBC) plus 3%.

So if you do this with $100 OBC, you will get $100 cash in your pocket, and will see a $3 increase in your stateroom folio, leaving you with a $97 profit.

This works and NCL knows about it, but doesn't seem to care.
