ZoeyVictoria Posted December 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2017 I read a review recently of the Independence that stated that the current cast of Grease had three more sailings to go, making my November 27 sailing the next-to-last performance. On the shuttle to the ship we met some of the relatives of one of the performers; his parents and two sets of uncles and aunts. They said they hadn’t seen him in a year and the ship had recently returned from Europe. The show was performed only once, on the last night, and was introduced as the first performance of the new cast. Did something happen to cut short the previous cast’s performances? Obviously the six family members were expecting to see their son/nephew on that sailing.
Joe12 Posted December 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Marc Walker (Current Cruise Director on Indy) said on FB that the cast finished on Nov 27 after 8 months. I'm sure this person's family knew when his contract was up, so maybe they had another reason or he was part of the new cast and was away at something else for the year. vickiw0318 Posted December 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Only one performance on 11/27 cruise because of rehearsals for the new cast ? I know when Abbacadabra performed during this cruise, they announced that they"d only had a hour or so to rehearse because the Grease cast was in the theater. ZoeyVictoria Posted December 4, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted December 4, 2017 I hope I misunderstood the uncles and the family did get to see him perform. They were so clear about how long he had been on the ship, though (his mother had not seen him in a year), that he was in the U.S. the first few months and then moved on to the ship, and specifically said that the Indy was the only ship he had been on.
