Careyd6 Posted December 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2017 Has anyone ever has the up-sell fairy call when they used a TA? Just wondering. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
NavarreCruiser Posted December 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2017 It is hard to remember for sure. Over 91 Carnival cruises I have been upgraded a few times and also offered an upsell a number of times. Some I accepted some not. I have been using a TA for quite a while so I believe some upsell offers have come that were booked through a TA.
cruisemein Posted December 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2017 I've been asking myself the same question, we know that if you have a TA, Carnival will not even answer a simple question if you call the 800 number, so what are the chances of Carnival calling me directly for an upgrade or upsell? Careyd6 Posted December 17, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted December 17, 2017 This is our fourth cruise. We were offered an up-sale for the last three but we didn't have a TA. I never took the others because they were for the owners suite and way to much. I was just curious if they even offered if you have a TA. RWolver672 Posted December 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2017 We had booked six balcony cabins in a row on the Empress deck through a TA. One of the cabins was for three guys. One day I was looking at our booking online and noticed that they had us on the Panorama deck. I called the TA and she said she would have to get with Carnival to see what was going on. She called back and said that they had changed the cabin with the three guys in it to a two person cabin. Carnival called the first person on our group alphabetically and ask if it was alright to move all of us. They agreed so we all got moved up without the rest of us even knowing what was going on. It was an upgrade too, not an upsell. Smart move on their part because now the Panorama deck is where we always choose.
chipperberg Posted December 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2017 I have been offered an upsell using a TA for my upcoming February cruise. I did not take it was we have and need connecting rooms. But I was still thrilled it happened.
firemanbobswife Posted December 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 19, 2017 The only time was when one party in our group had a connecting OV and I think they needed it for a family. Carnival called the TA, TA called me, TA called Carnival back. It was a free move from a 6A to 8C. I have been called and emailed by Carnival a few times when booked directly through my PVP. I believe Carnival needs to call the TA about anything that has to do with a booking when the client uses a TA as it belongs to them. That’s why when you call they ask if you are working with a TA. If you say yes, the conversation is over.
notyours75 Posted December 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 20, 2017 We have not received any upsell offers since we started using a TA. I think all contacts have to go through the TA. Carnival will not even accept payments on the cruise fare directly when I tried once. Sent from my iPad using Forums

azpilot Posted December 20, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 20, 2017 We had an upsell email and I got a balcony cabin upgrade for an extra $10 for our cruise in April. I took it!
