Brad1972 Posted December 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2017 If i have a cruise balance of $499.80 and I purchase a $500 gift card and make a payment online will it kick it back and not work because of the over 20 cents or will it just make the payment and have 20 cents left on the card? Thank you in advance guys.
firemanbobswife Posted December 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2017 You will have $.20 left over. I would just toss it after that. I don't think they can add something that low to your account. I say that because my first Platinum cruise when I gave the lady my cards at check in I had one with a balance of like $2 and some cents. It wasn't a lot. Anyway, she said the system wouldn't take it because it was less than $5 or $10. I can't remember exactly. This was after two tries. I held on to it for my next cruise and added it online myself when making final payment.

Other cards will be for our OBC. i'll keep the E-Card until after our cruise JUST encase we have to cancel for some unknown reason.

They can't refill the old one so you will get issued a new gift card. But it's good to save it anyway just in case there were any issues proving payment or you need the numbers for something. If there's a chance you may cancel make sure you don't book Early Saver. Usually it's not much more for refundable rates. Once you're 100% sure you can switch to ES. You just can't switch in the opposite direction.

firemanbobswife Posted December 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Same thing happened to us back in May. But somehow he was able to load it manually. The system wouldn’t take it for her. It was an e-gift Card so she had to input the numbers. It wasn’t a big deal, just thought it was strange that it had to be over a certain amount. Especially since I was able to get it to work online for the next cruise.
evandbob Posted December 29, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Aren't any small balances on a S&S acct. (under $5 or 10) donated to St Jude's at the end of a cruise? Or is it just positive casino balances?
firemanbobswife Posted December 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Aren't any small balances on a S&S acct. (under $5 or 10) donated to St Jude's at the end of a cruise? Or is it just positive casino balances? Any leftover funds $10 or less on your S&S account. But we are talking remaining balances on gift cards that have not been applied to a S&S account yet.
