Melbourne to Miami

Driving from northern Virginia, we will spend the night before the cruise in Melbourne, then drive to Miami the next morning, which is Feb. 4, Super Bowl Sunday. Google says the trip will take a little over 3 hours. Any suggestions on the best route to take and if there is potential for delay? Thanks!

I-95 South. Since it’s a Sunday morning, I wouldn’t expect any major delays, but I’d pad the travel time by at least 30-45 minutes just in case. Miami can get pretty congested.

If you don't mind paying tolls you should move over from I-95 to the Turnpike at Fort Pierce. Will save you as much as 15-30 minutes. Just by a Sunpass sticker from Publix or CVS or Walgreen's in Melbourne, or order one by mail as you are still four weeks out.

all you do is add tolls and end up at the Miami line farther west and then backtrack to I-95

Yep, google maps had us get off 95, get on turnpike, pay a bunch of tolls, get back on 95. I swear google maps gets a kickback from the Florida transportation department!
