easton64 Posted January 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2018 we have one full day in Miami before our cruise begins. We have not been there in almost 30years. What do you suggest?
Flymia Posted January 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2018 Where are you staying? What do you want to do? Will you have a car or plan on using Uber/Taxi to get around? Without knowing anything, I would suggest check out Brickell area and Bayside during the day around lunch time, then head over to Lincoln Road in the evening and walk around there and you can check out Ocean Drive while your there too. Rare Keith1010 Posted January 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2018 If you are in South Beach I would just spend the day there. You can walk the boardwalk and also over to the shopping area on Lincoln Road. If you have an interest there is a Holocaust Museum there. South Beach is just a beautiful area to enjoy so I would spend my time there. Great restaurants as well for your meals. Keith
BlueHerons Posted January 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2018 We are staying on South Beach W. Seriously, I'd stay at the hotel. It is magnificent! If you must leave: Vizcaya Deerfield Estate/Fairfield Gardens Coral Gables/Biltmore/Venitian Pool Wynwood Walls/Wynwood
Flymia Posted January 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Since you are at South Beach and a great hotel on South Beach I also agree staying in Miami Beach makes sense. I would still advise to check out Lincoln Road in the evening. A nice walk up Ocean Drive in the afternoon would be good. Just remember Ocean Drive is like Miami's time square, the dinning options there are sub par and very expensive. Its a lot of bait and switch deals. Stay away from eating there. Two of my favorite places in Miami Beach are Yardbird and Drunkin Dragon, you'll need reservations for both.
Grant2000 Posted January 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2018 You might want to take a tour on the hop-on hop-off bus. There are three lines, one of which covers Miami Beach while the other two cover Miami proper. http://miamiflorida.ca/transportation/
SquishTheWhale Posted January 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2018 For your evening meal may I suggest taking a food tour with Miami Culinary Tours. We did this and it was fantastic. Easily enough food to cover your evening meal and a fun tour as well!
