Voyages 3931 (Athens to Barcelona) and 3932 (Barcelona to Lisbon) are cancelled. They confirmed that voyage 3933 (Lisbon to Ft. Lauderdale) is scheduled to sail as planned on Nov. 21, 2019. Just to let you know, I did exchange my TA and the prior cancelled cruise (3932) for a different 2019 itinerary without any significant disadvantage and Silversea was very prompt and cooperative. I was very pleased with the whole process. I'm sorry to lose the 3932 culinary expedition, but I am sure I will enjoy the new itinerary too. (Of course I'd be sympathetic to problems for other pax but it'd be my own experience that mattered). For instance, there could be problems in the spa, casino or shops and I'd never know, but cabin troubles would be another kettle of fish, if I am still allowed such a phrase by PETA. There's no predicting where the issues might be so the question becomes how much a gambler are you? Will they occur where it affects you or not? Lordslurpalot Posted May 3, 2019 #28 Share Posted May 3, 2019 We cruised Silver Shadow 24th Feb-06 March from Singapore to Schenzhen. We were told the ship had just come from dry dock (several weeks) & the ship was sparkling. This was not a scheduled cruise as such, but a charter to CMG a large Chinese conglomerate. We could not fault anything, except for the unfriendly disembarkation procedure which took at least an hour. There were only 24 Westerners on this cruise, the rest of the Pax were Chinese. Just been on the Shadow again 12 days Singapore to Yangon via KL,Phuket,Langkawi. Very tiring especially 4 days in Yangon. Whilst talking to crew, whom we new well from previous voyages on Shadow, we were informed the ship will go into dry dock in Genoa in November. Possibly 2 weeks, major upgrades.Hence the gap in her cruise schedule if you look at cruise sites. We believe this major upgrade has been brought about by the large investment in Silversea by Royal Caribbean. Look forward to sailing on her again. I'm guessing you aren't talking about 2019, as the 22 Feb Singapore-to-Hong Kong Shadow voyage was not at all what you are describing. Now I'm curious .... I was thinking the exact same thing as the post made no sense relative to this year’s schedule.
