ivyleaguegent Posted January 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Greetings, My SO and I are booked on the Wind in March. What are the music and dancing offerings onboard? Thank you.
Rare WesW Posted January 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2018 We enjoyed dancing in both the maim bar and panorama lounge on the Wind last July. Also on Venetian night you can dance on the stage before and after CD speaks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
ivyleaguegent Posted January 18, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Thank you. Is there live music in both venues and how late does the entertainment go?
MLeh Posted January 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Our experience has been ‘as long as someone is there, there will be music’. Be careful if you request a song, as that may become ‘your song’ for the duration of the voyage. (The ensemble in the main bar would break into ‘Moon Dance’ every time we walked into the bar on one voyage after we requested it the first night.) unfathomable Posted January 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2018 It's a shame that bands on Wind are now usually a trio, piano, bass and percussion: the sax/clarinet player made a proper quartet. I think I can convince myself that Whisper used to have a quintet, or am I imagining that?
dougburns Posted January 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 19, 2018 They have a 3 piece combo in the bar before and after dinner. The dance floor is small and the combo tends to be rather loud IMHO. In the Panorama Lounge it's just a one person show(piano, etc.) and the dance floor is very small; not great for any ballroom dancing. At sea it's tough to do any dancing in the Panorama because of ship movement; it's mostly for listening and sing along type stuff. As dancers we were disappointed. The ship is very well run; especially if you have Daniel Elias as the HD.
