Will government shutdown affect airport and port security and customs?

The air traffic control towers and the TSA checkpoints will be fully staffed during the partial government shutdown. They will be working without pay. They will receive back pay when a funding bill is approved.

Thanks for quick responses. I realize there are more important things than this but I'm like everyone else and so looking forward to my cruise.

 

 

 

Doesn’t hurt to ask, I imagine many are unsure of how it all works. As active duty military I’m in the same “essential” boat and will be heading in to work today minus my civilian counterparts. Hopefully it’s resolved quickly, but in the meantime flights and cruises are proceeding as is.

I just posted in the Celebrity forum. We got off Celebrity Equinox in Miami this AM. We were worried that Customs might be impacted by the shutdown, but we had no problems getting through Customs. Several lines were open, Custom officers were present and working hard, and all proceeded quickly.
