Is this a casual only ship for the 4 night cruise to The Bahamas and Key West April 14-18, 2018? Do we need to bring any dress up clothes at all? Would a polo shirt and slacks for hubby and a skort or maxi skirt be fine for me for the dining room every night?

Yes, that will be just fine -- the short Empress sailings are all casual.

We just returned from a 12 night Anthem cruise and on the last formal night, we were in Silks, there was a young lady, late teens or early twenties, who ate there and had on gym shorts and a tank top. So pretty well one can wear anything except a bathing suit. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw even that one of these days onboard in a MDR.

You and hubby will be fine. You are on vacation. Dress to relax and enjoy, not dress to impress.

Specific to the Empress - I was on it last July; casual the entire time and there were no “formal”nights.
