5668200 Posted December 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2005 We are booked on the Sun 1/21 and one of our ports is the Dominican Republic. I haven't seen any threads on it at all. Is this a very new port or have some of you been there? We booked the whale watch excursion. If you've been to the Dominican Republic, have you taken this excursion? Thanks a lot! electricron Posted December 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2005 It is for NCL. The Spirit started cruising to Dominica on the November 27 cruise. You may be the first to give us a detailed review about this rare port of call. Keep a watch out for the  D R A G O N  aboard the Spirit. :D Have a great cruise! SqueakyDust Posted December 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2005 Do a search on Other Caribbean Ports of Call for Dominican Republic - different island altogether.
snorkelhead Posted December 22, 2005 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2005 Dominica is much further south that Dominican Republic which is the Eastern half of the isle of Hispaniola (the western half is Haiti, where Labadee is found). A link to a second thread on same issue with another link to another thread on same issue! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=233942

cusyl Posted December 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted December 22, 2005 If you get off the ship in this port be sure you take a ships excursion. We've been there before but wouldn't get off the ship there again. That's not to say that things have changed since we were there.
