#cruiseaddict Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Hi we are cruising around our beautiful country in March. We have one stop in PNG and Im wondering if that means we can shop duty free there (if its even worth it). Thanks
Gwendy Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Umm PNG is a third world country. No duty free shops, only shops are at Rabaul, Alotau and Madang and they all have steel bars and. A security guard. Island stops such as Kivata and Kirawana are beautiful beach stops. You can buy duty free on the ship. Please google the ports you are visiting and take some currency Kina with you. The locals will take Aus $ but lose a lot when converting back to Kina. The islands are beautiful and the people lovely, but a bit shy.
