WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot Posted February 7, 2018 #51 Share Posted February 7, 2018 Thanks so much everyone! Does anyone recall how much the clamshells cost? And where do I go to rent one? Is there just a staff member on the beach with them and they bring them to your chairs accordingly? My struggle is that I’ll be solo and I don’t want it getting taken over by anyone if I go for lunch or to the washroom. Sent from my iPhone using Forums $39.00. Reserve on board through guest services or Haven concierge. You'll get a ticket, and the beach attendants check them frequently. No tickee, no clamee. We saw several people getting the boot who didn't belong there. Also, you will be on one of the first tenders (if not the first) over since you have a clamshell ticket. It actually is classified an an "excursion".
esm54687 Posted February 7, 2018 #52 Share Posted February 7, 2018 Yes makes sense for sure! I’ve never been so would the people who get the clam shells be able to take the first tender and grab their seats with the clamshells as well as seats for other people arrive in later tenders Sent from my iPhone using Forums You can place some towels on loungers to reserve. The clamshells are typically behind the non clamshell loungers so if you get a front row clamshell and a back row lounger you should be ok. SwimAruba Posted February 8, 2018 #53 Share Posted February 8, 2018 Sorry if I missed this in a differed thread, but is the Haven area open yet at GSC? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Newbcruiser1 Posted February 10, 2018 Author #54 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Just another update after visiting GSC 8 days ago. Those sand fleas that made me move off one of the further beaches definitely bite! I didn’t feel anything for several days but since getting home, I’ve noticed some red bites on my legs - they still seem to be multiplying and are quite itchy a whopping 8 days later. The sad thing is, I had taken bug repellent wipes but forgot to use them and forgot to throw them in my beach bag for the day! :( So a big lesson learned and to share with others: USE INSECT REPELLANT and if you see the bugs, move elsewhere even if it doesn’t feel like they’re biting you! Sand and Seas Posted February 10, 2018 #55 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Sorry if I missed this in a differed thread, but is the Haven area open yet at GSC? Sent from my iPhone using Forums We were there first week of this month and its not open yet. We didn't see anyone working on it either. Perhaps they stop construction when a ship is there? Doesn't seem close to opening yet.
