Gift cards and cash in the casino

Can you use gift cards (AARP) that are loaded onto you S&S account for chips in the casino? And if so, can you get cash for the chips or will they apply the credit back to your account again? Wondering what I can do if I end up with too much gift card credit on our upcoming cruise.

Yes. When you go to the casino and play it will set up a players bank on your card. So if you sit at a slot machine and charge $100 to your S&S that will be deducted from whatever you have on your S&S account. Say you play that down to $50. Now you would cash out to your players bank. You can then either go to another machine and play from that bank or go to the cashiers cage and cash it out. Same if you want chips but they will charge you a fee at the tables. If you want to cash in what's in your players bank or chips you just go to the cage and cash out.

Thank you for asking this. I asked this before but I don't think people understood what I meant.

You are wondering if you buy a gift card but you don't use it all can you get cash in the casino or are they going to give you another gift card? Is this correct? I still haven't been able to figure this out so I am really interested in seeing if you can get a answer. :)

No, you can not just get cash from a gift card. Gift cards fall under non-refundable credit.

Just apply them to your S&S account and then apply it to your casino acct at a slot machine. Play a spin or two and cash out of the machine. Then go to the casino cage and cash out your casino acct for cash.

Can you ever get turned away for wanting to cash out from your players card. We use cash in ports and such. Traveler's Checks are getting harder and harder to find. I thought to get GiftCards, apply to players card, then cash out. But worried if they review you play and see 1 spin and you have cashed out say $100+, then next day the same thing could/would get denied.

I have this same concern. Don’t want to risk getting left holding gift cards.

I'm not so much worried about cards left over. I can always use for the next cruise payment. My concern would be being without cash.
