Rare uktog Posted March 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Here is the communication we have just received from Azamara At least we now have notification of the correct embarkation point however 1. This cruise goes to Dubai not Abu Dhabi 2. Previously on these boards and from Miami we have been told e visas were acceptable. Now this email says they are not. What exactly is the position. We have bought e visas, so is this money wasted? I am not sure we even have time given we leave soon to get other visas never mind the expense!! So either this letter needs reissuing with the correct information or someone has goofed badly with the earlier visa advice - I believe from my own research it is the former that needs happening. Rare uktog Posted March 1, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Thanks Bonnie That is the one I posted already - only one mistake in it - a silly one rather than a misleading one!! I hope again someone reflects on what went wrong today, its happening way too often these days.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard Azamara Journey and wish you a pleasant and enjoyable cruise. Yours sincerely, Azamara Club Cruises We were under the impression that visas for Sri Lanka and Myanmar could be arranged by front office after boarding ship. Is this now no longer possible ? If so does the above website for Sri Lanka visa apply for Australians ? FYI, We have been to both Sri Lanka and Myanmar previously with Holland America and they arranged visa whilst we were onboard. I will hold back saying anything about other issues such as India Visa.
Rare uktog Posted March 2, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted March 2, 2018 I believe Sri Lanka is e Visa before arrival (so I suppose technically can be done onboard but I’ve now done ours ahead). I have had it confirmed verbally via the Documentation Officer onboard that the ship does indeed arrange the Myanmar visas. I appreciate folks won’t want to go on what I’ve been told verbally so given this new confusion I hope Azamara authorises our Blogging Officer to post a clarification. The problem all stems from someone using a boiler plate template, properly Royal Caribbean for a different itinerary that is also out of date and not taking care to check things before issuing it. Attention to detail, a behaviour we love onboard but sadly lacking shoreside. Sent from my iPad using Forums

They have definitely been slow starting this race. Hopefully as you say they make up for it ONBOARD.

I'm told that yes, the ship will arrange visas for visiting Myanmar. But that the e-visa for Sri Lanka needs to be secured before hand. Hope this helps!
