fll to port of miami

we are fliing into fll a day early, would like to rent a car,and was woundering if there is any car rentals that have a drop off at port of miami?

There are no dropoffs right at the port. I think Hertz may allow you to drop off at a downtown location, and Alamo's location at the Airport also serves as their POM location. They run a free shuttle, but double check the details.

 

I have done the reverse. Alamo shuttle to pick up car and return in FLL.

I will be renting a car from Alamo at FLL this week and dropping off at Miami airport then getting a free shuttle to port. I have been doing this for years and it works out great. We get hotels through priceline in downtown or South beach and this time we are getting a airport hotel which will make car drop-off easy the morning of the cruise. Have fun.

We are flying into FLL and cruising out of miami also, but we are most going to use Florida Limo, a shared ride service -- it's only $18 pp and you wont have to deal with getting lost and/or traffic problems:

I believe Harry was talking about the Car rental company shuttling the driver to the port from the rental office in Miami. Limo or shared van is probably the best/most reasonable mode of transfer from FLL to a Miami hotel or the port on embarkation day.

We've confirmed with Hertz that if you rent at the FLL airport and drop at the MIA airport, they will shuttle you to the port of miami for free.

I will be on Valor in Dec next year so I have been keeping "eyes" open for info re: Hotels, transportation to and from and the port.. Thankyou everyone for the updates .. will continue to monitor for best advise as time gets closer. Hertz is looking good tho! Thank you again! :) Blue
