texancruzer Posted December 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2005 TIP: Go to your local bookstore and buy Frommers Caribbean Ports of Call. Get the 5th edition (latest printing) It has all the info you could need re: all the ports. Including maps and a very detailed walking tour of Old San Juan. We stayed 2 nights/3 days precruise and loved it !!! Opens daily from 9-5 admission is $5.00 adults $2.00 (13-17) and $4 for over age 62. Your ticket is good for 24 hrs. and will also get you into Fort San Cristobal. Even if you arrive at 7 - chances are you will not be able to get off right at that time.... suggestion #2 : take a taxi up to El Morro and walk back.... downhill. I just loved strolling and stopping to see what interested me (not every suggestion in the tour did).
Rare geoherb Posted December 29, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2005 We were there Christmas Eve. It's an easy walk from the dock if you're up for it. We walked a different route back to see more of Old San Juan. Here's the website. Admission is just $3 per adult if you don't want to see Fort San Cristobal too. We had seen it on past trips and skipped it this year.
