anjoliza Posted March 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2018 I will be going to Alaska in September on the Princess Star. There is an excursion available to take a float plane into the Misty Fiords. My question is - what is the best time of day to go? They have tours leaving at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Is there a difference if you go in the morning or afternoon? Thanks!! rkacruiser Posted March 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Who knows what the weather will be on the day you are there? If the weather is not safe for flying, the tour will be cancelled and your money refunded. The Misty Fjords Float Plane Tour is one of the shore excursions that I am most thankful for booking. Just be sure that the plane actually lands on a lake in the Fjords and offers the opportunity for you to get out of the plane and stand on its floats for awhile. The silence and the beauty are awesome!
Dancing Shoes Posted March 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2018 I have read that when the sun is directly overhead, example would be noon, that things below can look washed out. I picked a 3:00 slot over the noon offered.
