Buying a watch on Celebrity or ashore in Japan?

I would at least look in Japan. There are going to be models only available in Japan (JDM)

I'm not a fan of Seiko personally I'd go for a Citizen. Seiko does have a few interesting solar watches out there so it's all personal preference.

Joma is a decent website but it's considered gray market so the only warranty is through Joma. On inexpensive watches it's so worth it. There's a few Hamiltons I have my eye on from Joma that I might just have to pull the trigger on one.......

I bought a Citizen Eco on a cruise in Europe while on board the ship. We had a lot of of OBC to use so it was an easy decision for me. They do tend to have "sales" on Citizen and some other mid range watches. I paid $160 for mine and I just picked out one that I liked. Three years later it is still running fine. I would suggest that you shop at home first, have some prices and models in mind before you head out on your trip. The more you know the better shopper you are.
