skiladyldp Posted March 31, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2018 Hello, I just told my travel agent to book a B category cabin for Viking's Tulips and Windmills itinerary for April 2019. They were all sold out of A cabins for other dates for same itinerary out as well. Can you book B cabins and then ask to wait list for A cabins? What are the chances that it will happen? Thank you

Thank you B and A are identical. B is slightly cheaper and quieter. If they were the same price, I would still always pick B. It’s also closer to restaurant and reception. We have been on 8 Viking river cruises, 1 Viking ocean and have 3 Viking rivers booked. Edited March 31, 2018 by steverhodes
TravelerThom Posted March 31, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2018 Hello, I just told my travel agent to book a B category cabin for Viking's Tulips and Windmills itinerary for April 2019. They were all sold out of A cabins for other dates for same itinerary out as well. Can you book B cabins and then ask to wait list for A cabins? What are the chances that it will happen? Thank youI waitlisted almost a year out for ANY cabin for a specific date (in connection with a TransAtlantic cruise) on Viking Douro. NOTHING ever opened in the 10 months I waited- so I got my deposit back 6 weeks out. Viking’s pay-early-in-full and cancellation policies seems to result in not much change. I had a very nice Douro cruise with Vantage 😊
skiladyldp Posted March 31, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted March 31, 2018 Thanks to all for your help. Looks like I was wise to book the B cabin since it was the last one. Even though A and B cabins are identical I like the A location better but it's a B cabin or not go.
gwntravel Posted March 31, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2018 I'll also say I like the B-level better. Our friends with an A-level complained that they always hear early morning joggers on the top deck.
