There is a great band that plays in the bars n the ship...Badass...kinda of jazzy soul. They're fantastic!

I think it was actually "Badness", although we read it your way the first time as well...

Can you verify if you were in Grand Cayman on day 6? And, the hours you were in port? We are traveling in July and our itinerary says one thing but the cruise port schedule shows something completely different. I have called Celebrity to validate; however, I am still a bit leary.

Also, did the ship change time? Or, were you always on Miami time throughout the cruise?

We were 10:00 to 6:00, but tendered. First tenders off were probably a few minutes before 10:00 and last tender back was 5:30. And it was day 6.

Ship changed time after Key West and back after Grand Cayman (on the sea days).

Just off Equinox March 24 - 31, Western Caribbean itinerary. Any questions?

We will be on the Equinox April 14. Do you know what bars were open when you boarded? (other than the pool bars) We plan on being at the port by 10:30am.

(When we were on the Summit in January nearly every single bar on the ship was open by 11am, including the Martini Bar.)

I am reading from the Celebrity TODAY. All bars were opened at 11, except the casino bar (5 PM), Quasar (9:30), Slush Bar (noon), Sky Lounge (4:00 ) and World Class Bar (5:00).

Thanks so much. I was hoping several would be open early. At least I won't have trouble finding a place to have my bloody Mary!

We were also on the March 24th Equinox Cruise.

On Embarkation day - the bar in ocean view was open. Also there was some bar staff in ocean view taking tableside drink orders. There was also a bar on the back of ship outside ocean view cafe and I remember that being less crowded than the bar in ocean view cafe.

Other things:

Oz was on Equinox with some wicked trivia questions. Oz is the best.

For things to do:

Key west - it’s just easy to walk off ship and do things. You can get the trolley tickets directly from trolley website cheaper than cruise excursion. The Hemingway house is interesting. Also it’s fun to try conch fritters or key lime pie.

In Grand Cayman we did the Turtle farm excursion. The turtle farm was a great place and our children enjoyed holding the sea turtles and getting to snorkel in a lagoon with some of them. Because Grand Cayman is a tender port - doing the Celebrity excursion has the advantage of getting off early.

We were also on this cruise, and found embarkation, and strangely enough, disembarkation, to be incredibly smooth. We arrived at the port around 10:45, and were enjoying our welcome aboard "champagne" by 11:15. We had planned a pickup for 9:30 on disembarkation, but the line was moving smooth at 8:00 and we moved our pickup up, and were on our way to Fort Lauderdale by 8:30. In fact, we were on the beach by 9:30...

I do agree the first sea day was ridiculous for chairs! This was our second Celebrity cruise, and I just don't remember it being that bad on the last one!

We also were on the Equinox last week.

I agree the first sea day was ridiculous but the second sea day was much better. We were out at the pool by 9 a.m. and all of the empty loungers (and there were quite a few that early) had preprinted cards about not reserving chairs and where you could go to find your stuff if you were gone more than 30 minutes). We stayed at the pool all day (until around 4) and there were open loungers around us almost the whole time (granted we chose to be in the shade).

I've never had a disembarkation that was so easy. We were independent travelers with our car parked in the garage across from the terminal. We had a 7:50 disembarkation time but they were running ahead of schedule and our number was called around 7:40. We had our luggage and were on I-95 by about 8:20.

This was our first time at Miami and I loved the airport style baggage pick up. It made luggage pick up so much faster. Parking was also a breeze.

I really enjoyed the cruise.

We are sailing July 28th and will be there on day 4 from 7:30 am to 3pm. Kind of sad because at 7;30 am I assume few shops will be open and we were hoping to shop first and then spend the late monring/early afternoon on the beach.
