Too bad about the food. When we were there last year (Oceania excursion), they had a special train chartered, not the regularly scheduled one. It was a very long day (19 hours). I thought the lunch at the hotel was ok, but there were no vegans at our table.

That sure was a long day.One of the problems was that they let people sign up for this trip until about 36 hours prior to us going on it.Consequently with the large number signing up only in the last few days it was little wonder the arrangements weren't precise. If they do it again it should be limited to 60 but they then need to let passengers know beforehand.Having cruised before Rojaan went to her Silverseas page and saw that you needed to sign up which she did basically as it became available.

We finally reached the other side of the cable car ride.We could now look back to where we came from.

Lots of craft stalls here and the prices were cheaper.

Down below us was the finish of the ziplines-the same distance travelled as the cars. They then had to scramble up a track to be taken back by cable car-though they could have walked!.

Sorry we were on our own at that stage so not sure about those particular formations. The canyons were first formed ~ 90 million years ago and it is thought the rivers were preexisting. There was another major volcanic uplift ~ 25-30 million years ago as the Fallon plate subducted beneath the North American plate pushed by the Pacific plate. The particular formations are probably pinnacles.

But today was washing day.

This woman was going to go with her partner.

Still no sign of her partner and she is over half way.Just a tiny dot.

Her partner had put her foot against the gate framework and was screaming. She wouldn't get off though.Eventually the attendant gave her leg a little shove and off she went.

I'm sure the screaming was heard on the other side of the canyon.

We now had a short bus ride to another lookout followed by a walk to meet up with the bus again.
