Adventure Ocean Question

Recommended Posts

We will be on Aventure in November. My son is 9 and nephew 8, so according to the age groups for Adventure Ocean they will not be in the same group. What are the odds if we asked, could they be in the same group? How strict are they with the kids staying in their specific age category? Thanks :)

The official policy is they will not move ages. There have been reports of them being willing to do so on board, and there are reports of them not being willing to do so. It will depend on your child, the number of kids on board, and staff discretion. I would plan on them being in separate groups and anything else would be a bonus.

Often on port days and late nights they will combine ages if the head count is low enough.

We go during school time, and the groups are smaller. My son was on Freedom and Vision while 9-11 and each time they were combined with the 6-8 group. I don’t have an anecdote for Adventure because he was 12 for that.

But I’d say chances might be decent that they’ll be combined naturally.

But remember that if the younger does get to move up, he’s in with kids all the way up to just before their 12th bdays. And if the older moves down he’s in with 6 year olds. Neither seems great IMO.

Officially they say no. But they'll do it.

Depending on who's in charge they may do it anything within 3 months of a birthday or a whol year. It can vary between ships and itineraries.

However, any move is only ever a trail. If they bump the younger one up, but they feel they are too immature for the group, they'll move them back down. Same with if they move the younger one down and they're bored or uninterested, they'll move them back to the right ag group.
