Thoughts on Glory Premier 4/21 - 4/28 cruise

Not a review, just some random notes about stuff I noticed being different:

There was a 24 hour "hold" on redeeming e gift cards, and it was limited to just 3 at a time. Guest services said they needed the time delay to weed out any forged or fake cards. Don't wait if you want to use e gift cards on board.

Casino Cash was given to me as "free play" on my casino account, not in $100 bills as before.

The Taste Bar was never open the entire week.

Bitter n Blanc was on the MDR menu, and followed by the GM Souffle the next night.

There was only 1 comedian for the last 3 nights of the cruise, but he did both shows every night. His 1st show was over the top fantastic, but it was apparent that he got tired from the extra work load by the last night.

The Diamond Captain's party was a huge hit, as the amount and variety of the hors d'ouerves was simply amazing. The drinks flowed as well.

The Steakhouse had the "old" menu, including the chilean sea bass and the cheesecake dessert.

I received a hand written note attached to my returned laundry that thanked me for using the service.

The seas on this western itinerary were glass smooth the entire way, and all but the last day at sea had sunny skies and gorgeous tropical weather.

Thanks for posting your thoughts.

Do you happen to know if Guest Services had the same conditions on accepting physical gift cards?

Yes, Glad you made the distinction. I had both the little plastic cards as well as the print out emailed ones and the verification process had the same 24 hr. hold..

We still got it in cash on my Splendor Premier cruise the week before (and on every one of my too-many-to-count Premier cruises before). This may vary ship to ship based on individual casino management discretion, or they possibly just didn't end the previous cruise with enough cash on hand to pay out all that Premier cash in addition to their normal cash needs for a regular cruise.

The Taste Bar was never open the entire week.

Carnival quietly closed the Taste Bars across the entire fleet.
