Sue's Mom Posted May 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Our 11 year old grandson is visiting us for a few months and we are cruising on the Azura during this next half term. My husband and I will be dressed in the usual formal night attire for the relevant two nights but we are wondering what the minimum requirement would be for our grandson. His home is in a very hot country and we would prefer not to have to buy clothes which he will never wear again!

Trousers and a shirt. No problem at all. Sent from my iPad using Forums
kruzseeka Posted May 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Smart trousers - dark colour perhaps? - and white school shirt. You could pay a nod to the occasion by getting him a bow tie (colourful?) to make it more special for him but basically just something smart is fine for children. mandylennon Posted May 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Just trousers, shirt and smart shoes, school uniform in our case, no tie or jacket required.

daiB Posted May 2, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 2, 2018 School uniform! Really? :D I think a nice shirt of his liking would be better than a school shirt. I would let him decide about the bow tie. Some children would love it others .........not. Children at that age tend to like to be the same as others in their peer group and if he gets in with the kids club he will want to be wearing close to what they have. Jules. Posted May 2, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Waistcoats always look cute too! When youngest son was 10 he wore his dark school trousers and school shoes with a white shirt, a fancy “wedding style” cravat tie and a waistcoat. The waistcoat and cravat were bought for next-to -nothing on eBay! Have a wonderful cruise with your grandson.
Sue's Mom Posted May 2, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Thank you. A waistcoat sounds good. I will look into that.
