Andy27 Posted May 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Hi, I am taking a fjords cruise on the Norwegian Jade in mid July docking at Geiranger, Hellesylt, Trondheim, Leknes,Tromso,Honningsvag, Alesund and Bergen. At which of these towns do you believe taking a cruise excursion (as opposed to just walking around the town/village) would be an absolute must? Any general suggestions would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for you help
Rare LHT28 Posted May 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Honningsvaag to North Cape if that is of interest to you you can do ships tour, take the local bus or hire a taxi there are some other tours you can do https://www.nordkapp.no/en/ Bergen you can DIY or take a tour I would look at what is offered in the ports & decide what works for you

Ergates The Ant Posted May 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Bergen is great for DIY. The walk up and down Mt Floyen through the forest ( well signposted and lots of local walkers and joggers ) was very pleasant and great views. The Bergenhus Festningmuesum is a fascinating little museum about Bergen in WWII, free and with free and very clean restrooms! We had to walk quickly past the fish market with our eyes averted, shamefully there was a lot of whale meat on sale ) but the Bryggen was interesting. If you have time, head towards the railway station, as there are some very quaint little streets of wooden houses to explore.
LondonTowner Posted May 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Norway is very easy to DIY or book direct with local operators. Have a look on visitnorway.no which is the tourist board website. Sent from my iPad using Forums
