Coastal Kitchen vs. Specialty Restaurants?

The last two nights we actually went to the MDR and we were welcomed with huge excitement by the Head Waiter and our waiters. They definitely gave us excellent service for those last two nights.

 

I had a similar experience on Oasis class ships. I wonder whether MDR competes with CK for some reason as they really do seem to give out the VIP treatment for suite guests. Perhaps they are incentivised to ease pressure on CK.
