riffatsea Posted May 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2018 The casinos on all the ships should be open any time the ship is at sea. There may not be table games all night and all day but you should be able to play the machines any time you wish to play. It is closed when you are in port. winddawn Posted May 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2018 Casino typically opens once the ship reaches international waters and closes "late" which means when few people remain. There are some exceptions though based on the port of call. For example, the casino usually stays open while docked at Grand Turk because local laws allow it. Most ports don't allow the casino to be open while docked because they want people to get off the ship and spend their money. On sea days the slots usually open around 6 or 7 AM and then the tables open later. If you're a slot player and a non-smoker that tends to be the best time to play because the casino won't be as smoky.

Except for casino cruises like Premier cruises, the slots are not open 24 hours a day, even while at sea.
chengkp75 Posted May 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2018 I believe the OP is asking about the Pride, and the hours on first and last days when the ship is in Chesapeake Bay. They used to hug the Virginia side of the bay to allow the casino to open the first night, but Virginia has changed their laws, so this no longer applies. While I don't know the exact hours, I don't believe the casino is open the first night at all, and closes early (10pm or midnight) on the last night. The casino opened about an hour after sail away from Baltimore on the first night and was open way into the wee hours of the mornings we docked coming home..lol (I was in there at 4:AM) The only exception was in Mar. when Pride was late coming back into Baltimore and we didn't sail away until midnight. The casino opened around 1: AM and was open into the next sea day. When docked in Bermuda, casino was open from 9:PM till 5:AM. In the other ports, the casino opened about an hour after we left. We left Freeport at 1:00 PM and the casino was open by 2:PM
maryred Posted May 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2018 This year's NYE cruise the casino slots opened about 5:30pm (or about 30 minutes after leaving port) and the tables around 6pm on the first night. The Pride seems to attract a lot of gamblers and depending which team is managing the casino it is possible that the slots will remain active continuously till you get into a port of call. The tables will close by 1/2am or earlier if there are not too many table players still in attendance. When the management team that does close the slots are in charge expect them to shut things down between 1-3am or when there are only a few players, but it will reopen about 7am unless it's a port day. Speaking of port days when at Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, or Princess Cay the casino staff can apply for a slot exception license and choose to turn on the slot machines around 1pm, but table games generally need to wait till way from port. The operational hours of the casino bar are independent of the casino and many mornings it can open about 8am even on port days, and you will see many smokers enjoying their specialty coffees from the nearly adjacent coffee bar there.
